NTP ULTRA 2 Equipment Protection Plans and Coverage

More Coverage, More Value With NTP ULTRA2

Penske offers NTP's ULTRA 2 program, offering the most extensive equipment protection plans1 on the market for Class 2-8 commercial vehicles. ULTRA 2 has more coverages, expanded conditions and no fixed limits for repair costs2 on engines, critical components (fuel injectors, water pump, fuel pump, ECM), turbo, transmission and differential. There's no other equipment protection plan on the market like Ultra 2.

Our equipment protection plans provide the most comprehensive coverage options for the powertrain and 42 essential after treatment components. Coverage options range from six months to three years, and from 50,000 to 300,000 miles.

After treatment Components Protection

After treatment failures are the most common claim submitted for repair. And since the cost to repair today's complex diesel engine after treatment systems can be big, truck owners have found tremendous value in adding equipment protection to these critical components. Failures to any of the main after treatment components, such as the DPF filter, EGR cooler or SCR system, can cost thousands of dollars to fix, on top of the damage they cause to the hard parts of the engine.

That's why you need comprehensive after treatment component coverage from NTP. The ULTRA 2 program offers coverage on 42 essential after treatment components including filters, tanks, injectors, actuators and sensors:

  • Sensors = 12 Components
  • EGR Cooler and Valve
  • DEF = 10 Components
  • DEF Pump and Senso
  • rDPF Filter and Injectors
  • DOCSCR Catalyst and Decomp. Pipe
  • Exhaust Throttle Valve
  • BPV Valve
  • After treatment ECM
  • After treatment Wiring Harness
  • "One-Box"4
  • Hydrocarbon Doser Valve = 3 Components (See the complete list of covered components.)

When you add after treatment coverage to your NTP equipment protection plan, you cover not only the 42 after treatment components but also any progressive damage that failures may cause to covered components inside the engine.5 It's the very best way to protect the business investment you've made in your truck from the high repair costs due to after treatment component failures.

See list of covered after treatment components.

NTP Customer Repairs and Claims Process

Need help with an NTP claim?

It is important to contact NTP before you make any repairs. NTP will guide you through the claims process.

1. Contact NTP

  • Using your Self-Service portal.
  • This portal has a feature to locate any of the 5,400+ repair facilities NTP works with across the US and Canada.
  • Choosing a Preferred Repair Partner will guarantee labor on the covered repair and may also reduce your deductible.
  • Call NTP at 877-950-3200.
  • NTP Claims Service Representative can help you locate a quality repair facility.

2. Repair Facility Contacts NTP

  • If you are already at a repair facility, make sure you let them know you have an NTP equipment protection plan.
  • Ask them to contact NTP by your Self-Service portal or by email at claims@ntp-p2k.com.
  • As the vehicle owner, only you can authorize the shop to diagnose your truck’s failure.
  • If the problem is not covered by the equipment protection plan you purchased, any diagnostic charges are your responsibility.

3. Getting NTP Approval

  • Once the repair facility has diagnosed your trouble and provided NTP with repair details, NTP will work up an approval for your claim or let you know if it’s not covered by your equipment protection plan. NTP usually does this on the same day the repair facility sends the information.

4. NTP Settles the Claim

  • Once approved repair(s) are completed, the repair facility will send NTP an invoice and NTP submits payment to them for the approved repairs, usually within one hour.
  • An equipment protection plan owner is responsible for any claim’s deductible.
  • Please review your equipment protection plan thoroughly for equipment coverage, deductibles and other details.

Towing Details

NTP can help you find a service to call. If you use the towing allowance included with your NTP equipment protection plan, the towing cost will be added to your total approved claim amount (up to $350/occurrence). There is a limit of three occurrences during the term of your equipment protection plan.
